Now is the time to look for waterproof barefoot shoes. Water-repellent is not the same as waterproof. Any footwear can be made water-repellent with waterproofing products or waxes (e.g. Gogonano Stay Dry, Goldemix, Collonil Carbon Pro, Topi Natural Repel, Goldemix balm, Topi Natural wax), but this does not make the footwear waterproof. It is the membrane that makes the footwear waterproof. However, it is worth remembering that shoes with a membrane are not as waterproof as rubber boots. Membrane footwear can be used on wet grass or sand, in light rain and snow. However, if there is torrential rain and sleet, we recommend the use of rubber boots. Membrane footwear should not be dried on a radiator or in a drying cabinet as this may damage the membrane.

Waterproof barefoot shoes for children
- Affenzahn waterproof models – suitable for narrow and low to medium-height feet. There are vegan models as well as leather. New models available up to size 37!
- Beda Boty spring/autumn boots – suitable for wide and medium to tall feet. Made in the Czech Republic.
- EF Barefoot membrane models – suitable for wide and low to medium-height feet. Also for narrow heels and slim ankles. Available in sizes 26-33
- Fare Bare membrane boots – finally Fare Bare has a waterproof model for kids! They fit medium to wide feet, low to medium height.
- Jonap Jerry – the bare model (not specified in the brand name) is suitable for medium to wide feet, rather shallow. The slim model is suitable for narrower/medium width and low feet. Made in the Czech Republic.
- Freet Citee Junior – Suitable for wide feet, medium height and taller feet.
- Koel4Kids Darvo – smooth leather autumn boots. Suitable for medium to wide feet and low to medium high feet.
- Koel Dari Hydro Tex Warm – nubuck warm wool fleece lined boots for cooler spring/autumn or warmer winter. Children’s sizes are suitable for medium to slightly wider, low to medium-height feet. In addition to the laces, the boots have a buckle!
- Koel Edan Tex – youth-appropriate half-boots with warm wool fleece lining. Suitable for cooler spring/autumn, warmer winter. Children’s sizes fit medium to slightly wider, low to medium height feet. In addition to the laces, the boots have a buckle!
- Koel4Kids Rana rain boots – suitable for medium to wide, low to medium stiff feet. They replace wellies, but unlike wellies, they can be attached to the foot (with adjustable elastic), are light and flexible, with a heelless heel. Made in Portugal. NB: They are not, however, rubber boots for waterproofing.
- 3F Elf Denver and Cross Autumn water-repellent sneakers – suitable for wide and high feet. These shoes do not have a membrane, but are water-repellent treated.
- Bundgaard Spencer – smooth leather boots for older children with a cosy wool lining. They fit narrow feet with a medium height. The sole is a little stiffer than most barefoot boots.
- Ballop Intense W – Advanced Ballop Intense model with membrane. It is a shoe made of vegan materials that can be comfortably adjusted by means of rubber straps. Suitable for feet of medium width and height.
Waterproof barefoot shoes for women and men
- Freet Bootee, Citee, Mudee, Elgon, Tundra – suitable for wide and medium to tall feet. Citee, Tundra and Mudee are made of microfiber, they are also vegan. The Bootee is a textile and membrane model and the Elgon is nubuck.
- Be Lenka Ranger – nubuck leather unisex hiking and casual boots for the wide foot, which are medium to high in height. The sole has a deeper pattern, so the sole is also slightly thicker. Also suitable as first barefoot boots.
- Fare Bare boots – fleece-lined boots for medium-height wide feet.
