insoles

Choosing and measuring an insole

The insole directly affects the comfort, warmth, and fit of a shoe. Choosing the right insole can help improve the fit of your shoes, provide extra softness or warmth, and extend the life of your shoes. Tupsunupsu The online store has a wide selection of insoles for children and adults, including OmaKing insoles, sheepskin insoles, felt insoles and insoles for athletic use.

Which insoles to choose for shoes?

When making a choice, it is worth considering what purpose you will use the insole for – whether for everyday wear, for sports, for extra warmth in cold weather, to reduce/increase the height of the shoe, to make the outsole thicker, etc. In our product range, you will find both minimalist barefoot insoles and thermal insoles, which are particularly suitable for cool spring, autumn and winter.

Regular or warm insoles?

The choice depends on the season and the purpose of wearing. In spring and summer, a thin and breathable insole is usually sufficient, which helps manage moisture and add comfort. In colder weather, however, the best choices are warm insoles that keep your feet pleasantly warm. For example:

Felt, sheepskin, wool insoles

If you want a warm, comfortable and breathable insole for the winter, we recommend choosing insoles made from natural materials. Wool insoles, felt insoles and sheepskin insoles are particularly suitable, as they are gentle on the feet and provide natural warmth and softness.

Wool is one of the best materials for winter use. It is naturally insulating, which means it retains heat well, but at the same time allows the foot to breathe. Wool is able to absorb moisture from the surface of the foot, but remains dry and warm - this property makes wool an ideal material for insoles, even for longer wear. In addition, wool is antibacterial and odor-resistant, making it suitable for users with sensitive skin, those whose feet sweat more or those who wear shoes all day.

Felt insoles are made from processed wool fibers. Felt is a dense, elastic and heat-retaining material that is especially suitable for cool spring-autumn and winter. At the same time, felt has natural breathability, which means that the shoe will not become damp or stuffy even after prolonged wear.

Sheepskin combines the softness of wool with the durability of leather. Sheepskin insoles, for example OmaKing Super Warm Lambskin, are exceptionally warm and luxuriously soft. They are ideal for very cold conditions and especially good for those whose feet tend to get cold easily.

Tupsunupsu You can find several wool or felt insoles in the online store:

These insoles are suitable for both barefoot shoes and regular shoes. Thanks to their natural composition, they offer maximum comfort even during prolonged wear.

Insoles for everyday use

Breathable, moisture-wicking insoles are best for everyday wear, helping to keep your shoes fresh and extending the life of your shoes. These insoles provide extra cushioning for thin-soled barefoot shoes and are great for work shoes, casual shoes, and everyday shoes. Remember, it is recommended to remove the insoles from your shoes every day after wearing them so that both the shoes and the insoles can air dry.

For everyday wear, the following are well suited:

Insoles of different lengths

The length of the insole is important because an insole that is the wrong size can move around in the shoe, crease, or create uncomfortable pressure on the toes and heel. A well-fitting insole will stay securely in place. OmaKing You can find the insole size chart in the product information.

OmaKing Barefoot insoles must be cut to the appropriate size yourself, using the existing insole as a template. Place the old insole on top of the new one, draw the outlines and carefully cut out. If you don't have an old insole, start with a slightly larger size, for example, draw the outsole of the shoe. If necessary, you can trim it a little more until the appropriate insole length and shape is achieved.

D.D.step The insoles have lines on them to help you find the right size. D.D.step cut out for shoes. Vivobarefoot insoles do not need to be cut, they fit into the corresponding size Vivobarefoot shoes.

How to measure the length of the insole?

The insole length or insole measurement of a shoe is often examined to determine whether the shoe is the right size or not. In fact, the insole measurement may not provide accurate information about the fit of the shoe. Depending on the model, the insoles of shoes can be slightly shorter or longer than the actual insole length of the shoe, so their measurement may not always reflect the usable space. It is also important to note that a child does not have an insole measurement, but rather the length of the foot.

In some cases, the insole reaches the heel and toe, while in others it is somewhat shorter. Therefore, the length of the insole cannot be used to determine whether the shoe is suitable or too small. For example, the insole length of the shoe, measured Plus12 with measuring device, may be 17 cm, but the insole length is only 16,5 cm — but the opposite can also happen.

A more accurate result is provided by a special Plus12 measuring instrument, which shows how much space is actually usable in a shoe. When you measure a shoe, the back end of the measuring tool is placed in the heel and the front end is pushed into the toe of the shoe. The result is the actual inside length of the shoe – it doesn't require any additional calculations.

Therefore, measuring the insole length only gives a rough idea. If you want to assess more precisely whether a shoe fits, then rely on the insole length of the shoe, not just the insole measurement.
